Belconnen, ACT, April 3 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:
Early morning speeding drivers were targeted by City Station officers early today.
Five drivers who were all heading east on Parkes Way towards the City were caught by a general duties team between 4.45am and 5.30am, with the highest speed of 116km/h in a 90km/h zone recorded.
* A white Ford Courier utility driven by a 28-year-old Kambah man, was detected travelling 106km/h in a sign posted 90 km/h speed limit area.* A Volkswagen Tiguan SUV driven by a 28-year-old man from Belconnen, was detected travelling at 116km/h in a sign posted 90 km/h speed limit area.* A Toyota Rav 4 driven by a 42-year-old man from Kaleen, was detected travelling 108km/h in a sign posted 90 km/h speed limit area.* A Toyota Kluger driven by a 65-year-old man driver from Higgins, was detected travelling 103km/h in a sign posted 90 km/h speed limit area.* A Nissan Pulsar driven by a 41-year-old man from McKellar, was detected travelling 105km/h in a sign posted 90 km/h speed limit area.
All five drivers will be issued with infringement notices incurring one to three demerit points and fines of $326 or $484.
