A38-year-old man has been charged after allegedly knocking his former partner and another woman unconscious during an altercation.
About 3:30am on Sunday (8 February 2026), the man wasapproached by his former partnerand her family member on Mort Street in the City.
Police will allege following an altercation, the man hit the two women, knocking them both unconscious.
A bystanderattemptedto help thewomen,but the man allegedly struck her in the head as well.
Otherwitnessesprovidedassistancetothewomenand the man was arrested by policea short timelater.A search of his belongingsuncovered a bag of a whitepowdersubstance suspected of being cocaine.
Hewill face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 9 February 2026),charged with family violence assault,assault, affray, andpossessinga drug of dependence.
