Belconnen, ACT, Feb. 9 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

A 40-year-old Franklin man will face the ACT MagistratesCourt today after allegedly assaulting andchokinghis partner.

About 10:10amonSaturday (7 February 2026),policereceivedreports that a woman had beenassaulted.When police arrived at theresidence,they were informed that the man had left.

Police willallegethatover the past three months,the man assaulted his partner14 times,chokedherunconscious,and took non-consensualintimate imagesof her.

About 5:20pm Sunday (8 February 20226) the manwaslocatedinFranklin,arrestedand taken to the ACTWatchHouse.

He will facecourttoday charged with 14 counts of aggravated common assault, aggravated choke person andrenderinsensible,and capturing visual data of another person.
