BRISBANE, Queensland, Aug. 27 -- The Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet issued text of the following statement:

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training

The Honourable Ros Bates

* Queensland's international trade network expands to put experts on the ground in Paris, Riyadh and Bangkok. * Expansion makes Queensland's trade network one of the most extensive in Australia. * TheCrisafulli Government is delivering more jobs and better services through a stronger economy by unlocking trade and investment opportunities for businesses across the State.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering more support for Queenslanders doing business internationally by expanding the State's physical trade and investment presence in key markets.

A new Trade and Investment Queensland location has been established in Paris, and further postings in Riyadh and Bangkok, to be operational by the end of the year, will help drive investment opportunities for businesses and communities across Queensland.

Labor's decade of decline tarnished relationships with Queensland's international partners, which is why the Crisafulli Government is deepening ties and unlocking trade opportunities by growing the State's footprint overseas.

Trade supports one-in-four jobs in Queensland and by putting more people on the ground in key markets, the Crisafulli Government is backing the State's exporters and delivering more jobs and better services through a stronger economy.

The bolstered presence in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia bring Queensland's total international network to 30 locations in 21 markets, with TIQ also spread through eight regions across the State.

Queensland exports to the EU topped $5.1 billion in 2025-26, and two-way trade with France exceeded $1.3 billion.

Saudi Arabia is one of the State's largest and fastest growing export markets in the Middle East and two-way trade with Thailand was valued at around $5.2 billion in 2025-26.

By delivering stronger relationships through face-to-face interactions, the Crisafulli Government is also unlocking access to potentially billions of dollars in additional institutional capital which can be invested in Queensland businesses.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the Crisafulli Government's trade reset was undoing the damage caused by Labor's decade of decline.

"Labor took our international trading partners for granted and left Queensland's reputation in tatters which was yet another mess the Crisafulli Government had to clean up," Minister Bates said.

"We know the value of creating those face-to-face connections, and these new TIQ postings will unlock opportunities for Queensland businesses looking to explore new markets.

"Queensland is back open for business and by putting experts on the ground in these key markets we're delivering a stronger network to sell the Queensland of opportunity to the world.

"Having a presence in the capital of France will be a game changer for our home-grown businesses, particularly with the Australia-EU free trade agreement coming into effect soon.

"Saudi Arabia is one of our three biggest trading partners in the Middle East, and our Riyadh office will complement the work of our team in Abu Dhabi.

"Our presence in Bangkok will further cement our position in Southeast Asia, and work alongside our teams in Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia."
