Belconnen, ACT, Feb. 10 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

Ahighly visible andsignificant police presencewill be in placeinCanberra tomorrowahead of expected proteststo coincide with thevisit of the President of Israel.

ACT Policing is expecting protests to occurtomorrow (11 February 2026) in and around the ParliamentaryTriangleand ACT's Chief Police Officer Scott Lee saidextra resourceswouldbe on hand to keep the Canberra community safe.

"We respect people's right to peacefully protest however where actions break laws or are a danger to public safety - including the safety of other protestors - our officerswill respond to these incidents,"ChiefPolice Officer Lee said.

"We will havea significant and dedicated police presence, including those fromAFP Protection andSpecialistOperations,on Canberra's streetsduring these proteststokeepeveryone inthe communitysafe.

"Officers will not tolerate racial vilification or other criminalbehaviourand they willtakeseriously andfully investigateany placards,signsor flags that breach hate laws.

"We are asking those in the community who plan to protest to do so peacefullyand follow police directions."

Traffic disruptions may occur on roads to and from Canberra Airport, and in and around the Parliamentary Triangle on Wednesday.People travelling to Canberra Airport tomorrow should leave plenty of time to make scheduled flights, factoring in potential delays on the roads.

Drivers who find themselves in delayed traffic are reminded to obey the directions of police, and if stopped, should not break road rules (including crossing verges,pathsor median strips). Disruptions will be kept to a minimum.

If road usersencounterpolice managing amotorcadewe ask that they:

* Be aware of their surroundings at all times

* Obey the directions of police - especially at intersections

* Be patient

* Don'tdrive over median strips or perform illegalu-turns

* Recognisethat the delay will be fora short periodonly as the motorcade moves through
