BRISBANE, Queensland, Oct. 7 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is asking potential new recruits "What will you stand for?", as part of the organisation's new recruitment campaign that is being launched across Queensland this week.
The latest phase of the Challenging, Rewarding, Policing campaign calls on applicants to "stand for something bigger -a career with purpose and the chance to make a real difference in people's lives."
The campaign features police officers responding to diverse frontline situations, including chasing after and arresting offenders, domestic and family violence incidents and community engagement opportunities - providing a snapshot of the different elements of policing that come together to help create safer communities.
The ads will be shown across free-to-air television, video on demand, Spotify, digital and gaming platforms, as well as out-of-home advertisements such as billboards, transit screens and buses across the state.
Today's launch in Queen Street Mall in Brisbane City captured just a small snapshot of what a diverse career in policing looks like, with officers from multiple Units such as the Road Policing, the Bike Squad, Forensic Services, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), General Duties and more, all turning out to interact with the public and showcase their unit's capabilities.
Commissioner of Police, Steve Gollschewski APM, said the campaign highlights the desire of people driven by a passion for serving their communities to pursue a career that is both challenging and rewarding.
"Policing is more than just a job - it's a career built on being part of something bigger; protecting the vulnerable, upholding the law, and serving the community," Commissioner Gollschewski said.
"We want people from all walks of life answering the call to stand with us, and commit to protecting and supporting the people of Queensland.
"Our focus remains on building a strong, diverse, and capable workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
"We're looking for the right people - those who share the Service's values of integrity, respect, and courage.
"Policing is about more than skills; it's about character, commitment, and a genuine desire to make a difference in our communities."
The campaign continues to offer attractive incentives for recruits, including paid training, HECS repayments for relevant qualifications, plus relocation allowances and pathways for experienced officers from other jurisdictions.
With the new phase of the campaign now underway, the QPS is calling on those seeking a challenging and rewarding career, who share the QPS values, to stand with us.
There are currently more than 780 recruits in training at QPS Academies in Brisbane and Townsville, and over 1,440 applicants in the pipeline.
