Belconnen, ACT, Nov. 29 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

A 19-year-old MacGregor man has been charged with multiple driving offences after he was arrested overnight.

About12:10amthis morning(Saturday, 29 November 2025), police were conductingpatrolsinWanniassawhen theyobserveda silver Ford Falcon utility withapparentdefects heading south on Drakeford Drive.

Policedirected thesilverFord Falcon utility to pulloverbut itaccelerated away, allegedly driving at approximately120km/h inan80km/h zone.

A short timelaterofficersobservedthesilverFord Falcon utility drive straight through a red light at the intersection of Drakeford Drive andAthllonDrive inKambahbeforecontinuing to drive northbound on Drakeford Driveallegedlyat high speed.

The silver Ford Falcon utilitycontinued driving dangerously inKambah, allegedly driving at130km/h in a60km/h zoneand driving through another red light at an intersection.

About 1am, policeobservedthe vehicledrive off the Tuggeranong Parkway andcometo a stop on the side of the road. The 19-year-old driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

After a short foot pursuit, the 19-year-old man was placed under arrest.

He underwent a roadside breath screening testwhich allegedly resulted in apositiveresult.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with two counts offailing to stopfor police, two counts of aggravated dangerous driving, two counts of entering intersection onared light, driving motorvehiclewith alcoholin breath, driving with a suspendedlicenceand using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
