CANBERRA, ACT, Nov. 29 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
The AFP charged two men with assault on Friday (28 November, 2025) following separate incidents on a cruise ship which docked in Sydney.
An Arncliffe man, 24, was charged with one count of common assault, contrary to section 26 of the Crimes Act 1900 (ACT). The maximum penalty for this offence is two years imprisonment.
It will be alleged he assaulted a female victim multiple times while aboard the vessel.
He was refused bail to appear in the NSW Bail Division Court on 29 November, 2025.
In an unrelated incident on the same vessel a Dover Heights man, 50, was charged with:
* One count of common assault, contrary to section 26 of the Crimes Act 1900 (ACT); and* One count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to section 24(1) of the Crimes Act 1900 (ACT). The maximum penalty for this offence is five years imprisonment.
It will be alleged the man struck a female victim with his legs following an altercation.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Waverley Local Court on 3 December, 2025.
